Where I come from
I began as a journalist, trying to understand how information shapes people. That search brought me to Colombia's Ministry of Education, where I helped redesign national platforms used by teachers, students, and families. Working there transformed my understanding of design: it's not just about usability, it's about creating access, strengthening public capacity, and building tools that expand opportunity. That sense of purpose has guided my work ever since.
How I approach design
I see information architecture as the craft of giving shape to meaning. I work to simplify complexity without diluting what matters. I design from the system outward, not the surface inward. Writing is central to my process because it forces clarity. Research helps me dismantle assumptions. Iteration helps me stay honest. My goal is always to help people feel capable and grounded inside the products they use.
What I care about
Design should create understanding. It should respect people's intelligence, time, and context. It should reach those who usually get overlooked. I care about experiences that expand access, reduce cognitive noise, and support real decision-making. Whether I'm designing for education, fintech, or enterprise platforms, those commitments shape the decisions I make.
